Embracing AI at UTA
In providing resources for UTA discussion on AI, the University of Texas at Arlington is capitalizing on the skills and knowledge of our researchers, faculty, and staff to move Artificial Intelligence forward on campus, in the community, and for our students.
Guided by ethical, responsible research, analysis and decision making, UTA will strengthen the United States’ competitiveness in the global market.
Moving Artificial Intelligence Forward
Artificial Intelligence is quickly becoming a permanent addition to society and students’ tools. As a university, UTA needs to re-envision how we address student coursework, research, and how the University functions with AI in mind.
Advances AI (including Bing Chat and ChatGPT) quickly create coherent, cohesive paragraphs on a seemingly limitless set of topics. Adobe is integrating AI into their graphics platforms, allowing for quick image creation. The potential for abuse in academic integrity is clear, and our students are likely using these tools already.
As well, companies like Adobe, Microsoft, and Google are quickly embracing AI and are moving the ball forward. Because of these changes on the academic horizon, UTA has created this AI resource center to centralize information about AI at UTA.
